A great start
Ever since we have opened this blog up for subscription on the 21st of December, the response has been phenomenal. 89% of the people we approached have subscribed to the blog.
A large number of you have already told me that this is not enough, we need to do more. I agree, we absolutely do… but to do something like this we need strength in numbers. We need a voice that can be heard.
There is a lot of resistance in India when it comes to animal welfare, more so in the case of street dogs. To beat that resistance, we need to build up a platform. We hope that this blog can be the foundation of that platform.
I absolutely agree with Mitul that we CAN do some good for the Calcutta Terriers if we stick to our guns, and I think we have made a good start.
Thank you for all your support… and we still need more.

this is a very good effort. i have also got a few stray puppes and kittens adopted in mumbai, and m still trying to educate more people to adopt a pet rather than buying one.
what people dont realise is that strays are more healthy and live longer than the so called pure breeds. mongrels also dont fall ill frequently, and need a lot less medical attention.
i have a 10 yr old stray in my bldg, who has survived distemper( which hardly a few dogs do) and recently she recovered from hematoma also( pus fillied in ears). i dont think that a pure breed whould be able to run at 10 years of age and play after recovering from such diseases, and still wag tail every time when they see us!
