The Paws Network, A New Layout And Much More
Some of you may have noticed that we have made a subtle change to the site’s layout. It’s the same color scheme, but we have converted the design from fixed layout to a fluid one. This means our blog will take up more space on your screen, and make it easier for you to read.
We have also done away with the headline rotator for now. It will be back sometime later this year. In its place, we have gone for an old fashioned horizontal menu to give you guys easier access to the more important pages on the blog. I will experiment with some CSS for that menu and you will get to see the results soon.
On the right-hand-side column, you will notice two new features: One is called “A Site Worth Watching“. It will feature a new blog everyday, and friends, they really are blogs worth visiting. So click and see what awaits you… once, everyday.
The second section is called The Paws Network. This is a list of blogs that share our cause and principle—saving animals in need. We realize that animal rescue is so “niche” and most of us don’t bother to wait and give it a second thought unless someone points a finger at a needy animal.
These sites do just that. We have started this network by listing two remarkable blogs that aims to save needy animals, one at a time. One of them is called Save a Shelter Pet. This blog lists the innocent cats and dogs that are on the euthanasia roll only because they don’t have a home.
You will see that Save a Shelter Pet has managed to save quite a few of these unfortunate animals. Even if you are not interested in adopting one of these animals, do pay this blog a visit… just to remind yourself that deep down in your heart, you DO care.
The second blog is a neat one called Hounds Good. It is run by a a lady who calls er a virtual volunteer. She has made it her mission to search for dogs in need of a good home, and rescue them one at a time. In her blog, she posts updates on how each of these rescued animals are doing. Guys, how can anyone with a heart not support her when all you have to do is pay a visit to her site and read a post or two?
I am very hopeful that this network will grow bigger and stronger, and there will come a time when we can raise our voices together to protest atrocities against animals, no matter where in the world it takes place. And we will make our voices count.
So have a heart, stay tuned, stay connected. You CAN make a difference, and you know you care.
