Some things are so simple that no matter how hard you try, you can never get it until someone points it out to you.

So I came across this Indoor dog potty thing at Wizdog.

The concept is simple and is based on the premise that most dogs make a mess out of their pee and poop.

Don’t tell me you don’t know what I am talking about. How many times have you had to shake your head in frustration when your “potty trained” dog, did what it was trained to do—pee/poop on the pee pad, and then walk over it and on to your floor and carpet?

Uggh! Those paw prints. No one wants to clean them… and there are of course those times when your pet will step right off the pee pad and head straight towards you, jump up, and leave their impressions on your dress. It’s all done with good intentions, no doubt… but uggh!

See my point? My INDogs, who are extremely independent dogs, have never been potty trained. We didn’t need to, because they simply won’t do their business indoors. Nope. That is how their genes are wired.

This doesn’t stand for most dogs. You have to teach them what to do, and how to do it. Even then, there is no guarantee that it would be done well. There is always the danger of a hazard.

IMO, Wizdog provides a simple but effective solution. Here’s how it works:

1. There’s a plastic pan where you need to place the pee pads or newspaper
2. The product comes with a fitted grate that sits tight over the plastic container
3. The pee goes right through the grate and on to the pee pad. So your dog doesn’t have a chance to get its paws wet.
4. The poop stays on the grate, from where you can dispose it without touching. Just flip the grate.

Simple… isn’t it. Like I was saying, I could have created it… but these guys got here first. Well, what can I say, but “Well done guys! This was a problem that needed to be solved. You did it.”?
