In case you’re wondering, I took this photo in March ’07 at Darjeeling. Isn’t the dog magnificent? It is a Himalayan shepherd dog. Whenever I think weekend and dogs, I strangely enough, think of this one rather than my own brats. I guess there is something in that relaxed posture that makes you think of an ideal weekend.

I logged in today and was doing my usual rounds of my favorite sites when I came across this piece of news at Houndsgood. In case you haven’t been following the Tammy Grimes case, it is about time you update yourself on the latest about this animal crusader… and in case you’re a dog loving American citizen, make sure you go on to the Dogs Deserve better website and help start the process of making a positive change in America.

I have been receiving a lot of mails lately, mostly as inquiries on Indian dog breeds. The interest was sparked off by this post I made about seven Indian dog breeds that many people didn’t know about. While most of the queries were from people who wanted to own Indian dogs, some have come from animal rescuers who wanted to promote the Indian dog breeds. I am glad this article has garnered some attention towards Indian dogs. I will be happier if it helps change people’s attitude towards them.

To anybody who is interested, I made another post a couple of days back about the Indian dog breed called Bhutia. It’s a video post that will take you around 3 minutes to look at. Please do… because you will get to know about one of most exotic dog breeds in the world.

In other news, the country groomer has awarded us with the “Rated E for Excellent” award.

So, in spirit of the award, I would like to nominate the following blogs for the great work they are doing:

That’s about it for this week. Have a great weekend, everyone.
